2016/17 GPL: Kotoko play Hearts of Oak on match-day 8 whiles Wa All Stars play Sharks in title defense



Champions Wa All Stars will start the defence of their Ghana Premier League title at home to new boys Elmina Sharks, details of the about-to-be released fixtures available to can confirm.

The Premier League Board, we can confirm, will publicize the full fixtures by midday Wednesday, January 18 but has intercepted copies of the first 8 match-day fixtures of the 2016/17 GPL.

In other opening day fixtures Asante Kotoko will welcome Liberty Professionals in Kumasi while 2015/16 runners-up Aduana Stars take on big boys AshantiGold at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa.

Hearts of Oak have been scheduled for a short trip on the opening day to Inter Allies with returnees Great Olympics taking over the Accra Sports Stadium to host Bechem United.

Ebusua Dwarfs will hope for a baptism of fire when debutants Bolga All Stars visit the Robert Mensah on day 1.

Tema Youth and Berekum Chelsea will clash at Tema while Medeama and Academy boys WAFA SC set up a mouth-watering encounter at the Tarkwa T&A Park to close the chapter on the opening day games.

Match-day 8 of the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League is awashed with derby games, chiefly among them is Ghana’s classico where Accra Hearts of Oak will host rivals Asante Kotoko on Sunday March 19, 2017.
