Augustine Arhinful, a former Back Stars player, believes a healthy relationship between the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports could possibly translate into good results for the nation in the continent’s most prestigious competition.
The Stars have failed to register a win in their last four games, with some blaming the impasse between the two bodies for the poor form of the team.
There is clear impasse between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) which could affect the performance of the Black Stars in next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and a crucial game between the Pharaohs of Egypt.
Arhinful has therefore called on the two institutions to resolve any differences.
“There are too many issues surrounding this team and that needs to be curtailed. The team needs peace to actually perform. If they have to come to town with all the problems surrounding accommodation, ticketing, people hearing there are issues between the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, it doesn’t make for an easy situation in camp.”
“If they come down without any issue confronting them especially between the FA and the Sports Ministry, I strongly believe that they would come good at the AFCON.”
The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations will held from the 14th of January to the 5th.
