Atsu and Amartey named in AFCON starting XI



Ghana duo Christian Atsu and Daniel Amartey has been named in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations team of the tournament.

The two were included after an observation from the CAF technical team at the competition.

Atsu won the man-of-the-match in Ghana’s opening game against Uganda.

Daniel Amartey also gave a good account of himself featuring in all matches for the Black Stars at the competition.

Other names that made the list includes Cameroon young goalkeeper Fabrice Ondoa, defender Michael Ngadeu and Christian Bassogog who was named the man-of-the-tournament.

DR Congo attacker Junior Kabananga, Burkina-Faso duo Bertrand Traore and Charles Kabore also made the team.

Senegal defender Modou Kara Mbodji as well as Egypt pair Mohamed Salah and Ahmed Hegazy completed the list.
