Head coach of the Black Stars, Avram Grant has heaped praises on Black Stars players after defeating DR Congo in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
Jordan scored the first goal for the Black Stars in the 69th minute after he held on the pass given by Mubarak Wakaso.
M’Poku cancelled the goal in the 68th minutes from a free kick but Dede Ayew converted a penalty in the 78th after Christian Atsu was brought down in the eighteen yard box of the Congolese. The Black Stars will now play Cameroon in the semifinals of the competition on Thursday.
After the Stars cementing their name in the semifinals of the competition, Avram Grant has heaped praises on the players for their display against DR Congo.
“We are very happy with the results because it was a difficult game.” He told the press. “The players did their best and I must say it is always difficult to play without Asamoah Gyan but Andre was unbelievable and I must say congratulations to the players.
“We will play Cameroon in the semifinals. With no doubt it is going to be a difficult match as well but we will welcome every match by match.”
Meanwhile assistant coach of the team, Maxwell Konadu says he was impressed with the team’s performance in the second half.
“The players showed character in the second half and I am impressed with their performance.
“Normally in the matches that we have played, the players get tired in the second half but they did very well and we will prepare very well in our next match against Cameroon in the semifinals and I hope they continue with their impressive form.” He added.
