Coach Avram Grant has named a 26-man provisional squad for the 2017 African Cup of Nations Cup competition.
Captain Asamoah leads the side that will begin an 11-day training tour in the UAE before travelling to Gabon on January 13 for the competition.

AIK Stockholm midfielder Ebenezer Ofori and Ba?ak?ehir’s Joseph Attamah Larweh all made the cut for the provisional squad and could make their first ever appearance at the AFCON.

Other notable names in the squad include deputy captain Andre Ayew, Newcastle’s Christian Atsu, Bernard Tekpetey, Raphael Dwamena, Thomas Partey etc.

Ghana has been drawn in Group D alongside Mali, Uganda and seven time champions Egypt.
