Chief Executive Officer of Bechem United, Nana Kwesi Darling has showered praises on his players after beating Accra Hearts of Oak at the Bechem Park in the Match Day 27 fixture of the Ghana Premier League.
Accra Hearts Oak’s suffered a major setback after a humiliating 3:1 defeat against Bechem based club. Abednego Tetteh was the hero of the day as his remarkable hat-trick sunk the Phobians.
Abednego’s first goal came in the 18th minute before hitting two more in the 50th and 82nd minute to give the home side a stunning 3:0 lead. Owusu Bempah scored in injury time goal which wouldn’t even pass as consolation for the Phobians considering the manner and effect of the defeat to their title chase.
“We lost to Hearts of Oak in the first round of the league but before the match I said we must beat Hearts and the players believed in themselves.” Nana told Asempa Sports in an interview.
“We did some strategic signings in the transfer window and during the match you could see that it was very difficult for Hearts of Oak to penetrate through our defenders. The midfielders was very compact and the strikers were very shape and during the match they couldn’t even swing four or five passes together.
“I thank my players for the wonderful thing they did because they could have scored more but I must say that I am very proud with my players.” He added.
Bechem United are now at the 7th position with 38 points and will play relegation bound New Edubiase at the Bekwai Park in the Match DAY 28 fixture.
