The Black Stars is not a club team- Saani Diarra

Spokesperson for the Ghana Football Association (GFA); Ibrahim Saani Diarra says, the procedure used in selecting players to the national team differs from that of a club side because, when it comes to the national team selection, there is an opportunity for the coach to choose from a wide range of players.

In his submission on sportsnite yesterday, the PRO disclosed that, dynamism in selection of players into the Black Stars will always be a subject matter because, it shows that no one has a permanent position in the team.
“during Avram Grant’s era, we [Ghanaians]were constantly complaining that, his call-ups are template; so the selection should be varied to bring competition in positions in the team.” He said.

According to Saani, all the selected players for Congo match are expected to report on Monday; the 28th of August since the team have to train at least twice in Kumasi before September 1; which is the match-day.

Kwesi Appiah has announced his squad to face Congo on 1st and 5th September in Kumasi and Brazzaville respectively in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
