Former coach of the Black princesses of Ghana, Robert Sackey, has bemoaned the wastefulness of the current crop of Black Stars strikers in recent times and labeled them as attackers who are not hungry enough for success.
In an interview with Takoradi based radio station, Westgold Fm, he argued that, the captain of the Black stars, lacks match fitness, “Asamoah Gyan is one of the best strikers we have ever produced but his level in match fitness at Germany 2006 when I saw him has not been the same due to some injuries” he said.
He added that, Jordan Ayew, would start from the bench if he happens to be the coach because he has failed to be useful. “Jordan Ayew holds on to the ball for too long for opponents to recover and I would bench him if I am the coach”
He reiterated that the striking pattern of the team is not potent enough to produce results and encouraged them to do something better. “ I don’t think the striking force is potent enough to produce it”.
