Chelsea have reached a deal to sign 16-year-old Polish goalkeeper Marcin Bulka.
The teenager is already 6ft 5ins in height and plays for FCB Escola, who announced on their website he had reached an agreement with the Blues.
He was also wanted by Barcelona but had impressed Chelsea staff after a trial at Cobham in April.
Bulka had been close to a move to the La Liga champions, but Chelsea have moved quickly to secure his signature.
Former Chelsea goalkeeper Henrique Hilario – who played for the club between 2006 and 2013 and is now one of the coaches, urged the club to make sure of the deal so the teenager could join them on their US tour.
It is likely Bulka will be sent on loan or continues to learn his trade with the club’s youth academy.
