Western Regional RFA Chairman, Kojo Yanka believes crusading for the exit of Ghana Football Association president from his office is senseless.

Ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon, the Black Stars management committee urged Avram Grant to win the trophy after failing to win it in 2010 in Angola and in 2015 in Equatorial Guinea.

President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi has been office for the past twelve years but have failed to win the Africa Cup of Nations under his auspices.

After the Black Stars failed to win the tournament in Gabon, many football enthusiasts are crusading for the exit from his position as the president of the Association but the Mr. Yanka believes it is senseless to crusade for the exit of Nyantakyi from office as the president of the association.

“I don’t think any Ghanaian can ask the president of the Ghana Bar Association to resign from his position because it is an association of lawyers.” He told Asempa FM.

“We have also come together as an association of football members who owe their own teams with nobody giving us money to running our clubs including the government.

“We as an association came together and decided that elections will be held every four years and you can contest for the elections if you are a member of the association and we do this with our own money.

“We held elections and we elected Nyantakyi as the president of the association so ones you are not part of the association you can’t crusade for the exit of the president from office. On what grounds are you basing your argument on? He quizzed.

“Black Stars went for a tournament and they failed to win the ultimate and you are crusading for his exit from office? It is senseless. If Ghanaians were giving us money to run the FA then they can say we are crusading for the exit of Nyantakyi but ones they don’t contribute anything to the FA there is no way they can force us to break our own constitution until the four years end, he will continue to be the president of the association.

“If Nyantakyi’s mandates ends, you can contest him and we will determine who be the president of the association but ones has done nothing wrong we can’t impeach him and so crusading for his exit is neither here nor there and it is senseless.” He added.
