Designate Youth and Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah has urged the Black Stars to clinch the Africa Cup of Nations trophy.
The Black Stars after winning their first match against Uganda and Mali will now take on Egypt on Wednesday in Stade Port Gentil.
The tem came close of winning the trophy in 2010 in Angola losing by a lone goal to nothing to Egypt. In 2015, the team lost to Ivory Coast on penalty shootout but the Member of Parliament for the people of Atwima Mponua constituency has urged the Black Stars to clinch the trophy.
“We will all agree that is been a while the team won a trophy and I will like to urge them to present the AFCON 2017 to President Nana Addo.” He told Asempa FM.
“It will be great feelings to have the Black Stars win the Cup of Nations during my term as the Sports Minister of Ghana.
“I will therefore like to encourage and urge them to grab the ultimate, it has already started. We won against Uganda and Mali and I know we are going to win against Egypt.
“I am of the believe that we will our quarterfinals and semi-final matches, go all the way to the finals and win the title.” He added.
