Kotoko players have been urged to quickly put behind them Wednesday’s 4-1 defeat to Ebusua Dwarfs and rather pay attention to Sunday’s Super Clash against arch rivals, Hearts of Oak.
Sports Psychologist, Dr. Patrick Ofori who gave advice shortly after the game in Cape Coast, told the visibly disappointed players that, they needed to lift themselves up ahead of the epic clash.
Though he acknowledged that, the defeat was heavy, he charged the players not to accept that, they were weak. Results like that of Wednesday, he said come once in a long while in the game. He further advised them to be strong mentally and believe in themselves.
Dr. Patrick Ofori cautioned the players not to be apportion blames. You should remain united to fight as a unit, determined to quickly change the fortunes of the team, he told the players.
Acting General Manager, Samuel Opoku Nti also tasked the team not to dwell anymore on where they fell but concentrate on getting up. He admonished the players to overlook that game and pretend it never happened while paying attention to the upcoming matches since they could still catch up.
“There was a time Hearts led us 10 points but we equaled it and even passed them” he said. “So, who tells you that, we can’t catch up with them now that they leading us by five points?”.
