Vociferous football administrator, Takyi Arhin believes the Ghana Football Association are refusing to be transparent with the affairs of the Black Stars.
After the team played Rwanda in the last round qualifier of the 2017 AFCON, the team jet off to Russia for an international friendly in Moscow.
A member of the Black Stars management committee, Wilfred Kweku Osei Palmer revealed the Ghana Football Association always run at loss anytime the team play friendly matches and they have to look for extra money to settle their debt because they always incur debt and they will incur debt against Russia. Palmer further said the Russians gave the FA $150.000 with an appearance fee of $5.000.
This statement has generated a lot questions on why a management member can utter such statement because it took the deputy captain of the Black Stars to buy tickets for some players before they were able to get flight tickets for the AFCON qualifier against Rwanda.
Speaking to Asempa Sports in an interview, Takyi Arhin said, “If we compare Russia to Ghana, they are financially better than us so how you tell the masses that we will incur debt when we play Russia.
“They invite Ghana for a friendly and they provided us the flight tickets and all the necessary needs so there is no way the FA can tell us they incur debt anytime the Black Stars play friendly matches. It is totally unacceptable.
“After the match against Rwanda, the players are not demanding for their ticket refund so we shouldn’t take this serious. We recommended that let a government official be on the Black Stars management committee but the FA have resisted that suggestion and they have proven that they are not ready to show transparency.” he concluded.
