Minister of Communications, Edward Omane Boamah is very optimistic Ghana can upset Egypt in Alexandria.
Egypt who are seven time African Champions are currently leading the Group E with three points whiles Ghana were held to a goalless draw at the Tamale Sports Stadium by the Cranes of Uganda.
The Egyptians will welcome the Black Stars to Alexandria on the November 13th. Many have tipped Egypt to triumph over Ghana due to the current impasse between the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports but Omane Boamah believes despite all the odds favoring Egypt, Ghana can upset them.
Speaking to Asempa Sports, he said, “Ghana can go to Egypt and win because we have face this tricky situation before.
“We had to play South Africa when they were having all the big players but Ghana was able to beat them. Upset may come but let all supports Ghana to victory and I believe we can do that.”
The Ghana Football Association and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuye are not in good terms due to the leadership style of the minister.
Quizzed if he supports the leadership style of Youth and Sports Minister, he said, “The ministry has their own reasons of doing what is going. A big example is the payment of monies but I hope it will end and help us qualify for the world cup.
“I have known Nii Lante Vanderpuye in the sports field so some years now and so as the members of the FA and I hope they will all be in agreement and move on in the name of Ghana.” He added.
