Former Black Stars defender, Sam Johnson believes Ghana can win the 2017 AFCON.
The Black Stars have been sealed in Group D with Egypt, Uganda and Mali in the 2017 AFCON which will be staged in Gabon.
Obviously, the Black Stars have lost the supports of the country after the 2014 Brazil fiasco. The team has struggled to win the four matches in a row.
This situation have brought a lot of pressure on the team but the former Hearts of Oak defender believes Ghana can still win the 2017 AFCON despite the pressure on the team.
Speaking to Asempa Sports, Johnson said, “I believe despite the lack of supports, Ghana can win the 2017 AFCON.
“Tamale is part of Ghana and obviously the team lacked support against Uganda but I can say they need us to survive.
“For them to win the AFCON they need us and we need them. Let do things properly and I know Ghana will win the AFCON.
After dropping huge points against Uganda, the Black Stars will take on seven times African Champions at the Alexandria Sports Stadium on November 13th in Cairo.
Quizzed if Ghana can win against Egypt in Cairo, he said, “We don’t have to lose in Alexandria because if we lose, it is going to make things very difficult for us. The team must win at all cost against Egypt if they want to qualify for the world cup.” He added.
