Ugandan sports presenter and a writer; Darren Kyeyene Allan has revived the hopes of Ghanaians by stating that, with regards to Uganda’s victory over Egypt yesterday, it has make the group E open; with Ghana having a huge chance of qualifying to the World Cup.



Speaking on sportsnite all the way from Uganda, the NBS TV presenter said; mathematically, Ghana stand the chance of qualifying to Russia 2018 based on the fact that, the Black Stars will automatically beat Congo both home and away which will push them to 7 points; Uganda on the other hand will be defeated by Egypt in their return leg in Cairo; thus, pushing Egypt to 9 points and Uganda 7; making the group open to all.

“Ghana would have been probably out of the equation if Egypt had won. The Cranes’ [Uganda] victory gives them the chance as well as the Black Stars.”

According to the Daily Monitor News Paper writer, it will be one of the wonders in the world and also will be documented as a history if Uganda is able to sail through group E to the World Cup.

“Uganda is not eager to go to the World Cup but in sports, you try and go give your best. If the Cranes make it to the World Cup, it will be a history; and it will change the landscape of Uganda Football.” He added.

Ghana have played two of the six qualification games and with four matches to go, are 3rd in group E with 1 point while Uganda top the group with 7 points followed by Egypt-6 points with three matches each. Ghana play Congo who are yet to grab a point today at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
