Veteran football administrator, Alhaji Grusah has pleaded with the Ghana Football Association to award Avram Grant contract extension if he wins the Africa Cup of Nations trophy.
The Black Stars will now play Cameroon in the semifinals of the competition on Thursday after defeating DR Congo by 2:1 in the quarter finals stage of the tournament.
Ahead of the tournament, many football fans doubted if Ghana will qualify for the quarter finals of the competition but the team has managed their way out to play in the semifinals of the country.
The GFA has charged the former Chelsea and West Ham manager to end the 35 years trophy drought but the controversial football administrator is of the view the GFA must reward the coach contract extension if Ghana clinches the trophy.
“I don’t watch performance in football I am only interested in the results.” He told Asempa FM.
“Watching the Congolese against the Black Stars yesterday, it was very obvious they were better than us but we were able to defeat them.
“But in football it is win, lose or draw but personally I don’t like the attitude of Avram Grant so he better continue to win because you can’t understand how he works.
“He is not a confident coach to my liking but if he is able to win the trophy I will plead with the FA to award him one or two year’s contract. We gave him two years contract to win the AFCON and in his first year he was able to send us to the finals in Equatorial Guinea so if he is able to win the ultimate this time around in Gabon, we should let him stay. When we are able to win the trophy, it is under Avram Grant.
The King Faisal owner also heaped praises on Jordan and urged Ghanaian football fans to forgive the Black Stars and support the team as they play Cameroon in the semifinals of the competition.
“Jordan did very well yesterday and I am very happy with the goal he scored. Dede also did very well but I will urge Ghanaians to forgive the team and support them because they have consistently showed that they are need us to support them.” He added.
