The captain of Accra Hearts of Oak, Thomas Abbey has debunked claims of a possible move to bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko.
It is widely circulated in the media that business mogul and staunch supporter of Kotoko, Mr. Christopher Damenya is reported to have promised to sign Thomas Abbey and Winful Cobinnah for Kotoko, but the leading goal scorer in the Ghana premier league has debunked the hopes of Kotoko supporters in an interview with Atinka TV.
“For now, I’m not sure i can play for Kotoko. I know football is business and the two clubs are not enemies but at the moment, I’m not ready to play for Kotoko. That will be unfair to Hearts”. he said.
Thomas Abbey’s has put up a sterling performance this season and has 12 goals to his name but it is unclear whether he will extend his contract with the continental club masters at the end of this season.
