Coach of Sekondi Hasaacas, Yussif Basigi on Tuesday disclosed that he had not parted ways with his employers and remained the technical head of the Sekondi-based club.
Basigi was asked sacked by the management of the club due to the recent bad results recorded by the team. The club was forced to sack its longest serving manager after supporters of the club petitioned the leaders to relieve the coach of his duties.
Citing divided attention, the fans argued that Basigi’s role as the head coach of the national women’s team leaves Hasaacas exposed.
In an interview with the Graphic Sports, Basigi explained that his absence was due to sickness contrary to media reports that he had parted ways with his employers.
According to him, management gave him some time off to recover while his assistant acted in that capacity.
However, the Coach insisted that a group of people, who were envious of his exploits were behind the rumours.
“I don’t know what these people want from me but I know that they are jealous because they keep saying why is it that I am coaching Hasaacas and also in charge of the Queens?” he queried.
