Management Committee Member of the Black Stars, Wilfred Osei Palmer has unfolded that he stopped Avram Grant from going back to Europe after the team’s international friendly against South Africa.
According to the Tema Youth owner, the Israeli tactician had planned to leave for holidays at his base in UK after the game against the Bafana Bafana on Tuesday.
The former Chelsea and West Ham United manager has constantly being lambasted for his continuous stay in Europe since taking up the Black Stars job as the head coach. Avram had continuously stayed in Europe with the excuse of monitoring Ghanaian players abroad.
“After the game he (Grant) had planned to go back to the UK, but I had to stop him looking at the situation we find ourselves in.” Osei Kwaku Palmer told the media.
“You know what has been going on and so it was important for us to meet him. We will be meeting him on Friday to discuss issues going forward.”
The Israeli tactician is expected to begin plans ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifier against Egypt.
