Board Member of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Chairman Kewku Amponsah has revealed that he will allow Kotoko management to appoint a technical director to help or assist Michael Osei till the end of the season.
This come as a shock to the public after Kotoko played one all draw with their title rivals Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Operations Manager George Kennedy confirm that a technical director could be appointed in to help interim coach Michael Osei.
Osei, was made the interim coach when Coach David Duncan was asked to step aside.
He has come under intense criticism following the club’s recent declining performance in the Ghana Premier League, with 2 points from a possible 9 points in the last three games but the board member is of the view that it will not help the club.
Speaking to Asempa Sports, he said, “We all know that Michael Osei’s substitution is not all that good but against Hearts of Oak we all saw the players he introduced on the field.
“We have nine matches to end the season so what will be the essence of appointing a technical director to assist the coach. For me I will not allow that to happen because I totally disagree with this decision that the management want to take”.
Kotoko after week 21 have 33 points lying the 5th position on the league log and will play Edubiase at the Gyamfi Park ON Wednesday in the week 22 fixtures of the Ghana Premier League.
