I Would Have Kicked Avram Grant Out if I Am the Sports Minister – Dr. Temakloe

Former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Temakloe has vowed to kick out the head coach of the Black Stars Avram Grant if he is the Youth and Sports Minister.

The behavior of Avram Grant had raised many questions on why he is refusing to stay in the country and monitor our league.  Many Football pundits and football enthusiast have also questioned the FA why they are failing to instruct the coach to stay here in Ghana.

The Israeli coach is believed to be have been linked to some clubs in England and has already vowed not to extend his contract with Ghana after the 2017 AFCON that will be staged in Gabon.

Speaking to Kojo Asare-Baffour Acheampong of Asempa FM in an interview, Dr. Nyaho said, “I am not happy particularly with the national teams and the way the national teams speaks. The coach handling the national team, I am not comfortable with it.

“Coaches are employed to impart what they have to the team and on the players but here we have a coach who hardly stays in the country. When we are going to have a match or a tournament then he will come around and pick the players from certain areas, put them together and go and play.

He continued, “Avram Grant is not teaching the players anything. The first time we had a coach who really taught us something was when we qualified for the Germany world cup in 2006 and it was under Ratomir Dujkovic. So to me, this coach who don’t like staying here, if it happened that I am the youth and sports minister, I would have kicked him out from this position long ago.

“I didn’t bring in Dujkovic but I was the head of the FA so I was part of the committee that interviewed him. Many coaches applied but we saw that he was the best one we can choose and I have no regret about that and when he made the history, I was then an ambassador but I was really happy.”
