Head coach of the Black Stars, Avram Grant has revealed that managing the Black Stars team is a very difficult task.
“Managing players of the Black Stars is very difficult. Most of these players are not really active at their club levels, so trying to get them to be fit for matches is really difficult”, Grant lamented in an interview with Metro Sports.
The fitness levels of most of the Stars were tested during their first game against Uganda in the Group D opener of the on-going African Cup of Nations in Gabon.
The Black Stars looked jaded and tired in the dying embers of the fixture, as the Cranes probed to get an equalizer.
The Stars had to rely on experience to overcome their opponents.
Ghana won the game by a lone goal through a penalty nicely converted by Andre Ayew, after skipper Asamoah Gyan had been brought down by a Ugandan defender.
