Black Maidens makes quick return to camp, According to management committee Chairman Augustine Asante, has said the leadership of the team is doing all it can to send the players back to camp ahead of the U-17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan.
The Black Maidens were camped at Prampram in preparation for the tournament, which is scheduled for September this year, but had to break as a result of financial constraints.
“I am expecting we go to camp, but we have to get money to send the girls to camp. I am going to see the Minister about it and probably see within the week if we can start camping.
Mr Asante added that the break in camp can affect the team’s preparation ahead of an important competition like the World Cup. “Definitely, it will have some effect on the girls because for the past two or three months, they have been at home. Some of them have been playing in the league anyway, but I know the capabilities of the coach. They will have a full time and be able to prepare the team very well for the tournament,” he said.
