Accra Hearts of Oak defending Inusah Musah is convinced the exit of Kenichi Yatshuhashi affected their chances of clinching the league title last season.
The Phobains missed out on winning the league title having begun the season on a brighter note under auspices of the American-Japanese coach.
Kenichi parted ways with the with the club at the end of the first round of the season and was replaced by Portuguese manager Sergio Traguil who was later demoted to the second team after recording unimpressive results.
Speaking to the media, Inusah said, “Kenichi’s departure really affected us. He was a very good Coach and always inspired us, but couldn’t do anything appoint his departure.
“All the players really liked him; I think his departure really affected the team a lot.”
The Rainbow Club finished the 2015/16 season at the 3rd position with 48 points.
The club is expected to appoint a new coach after Yaw Preko unexpectedly resigned from his position last Friday.
