National Circles Chairman for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Kweku Amponsah has call on Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to dissolve the Management and the Board of the club after losing to Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs at the Cape Coast because he belive that they have failed the club.
Kotoko were humbled by 4:1 at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium by Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs in the week 19 fixtures of the Ghana Premier League. This is the heaviest defeat the Warriors have recorded this season.
It was predicted that Kotoko is likely to lose at Cape Coast because since Dwarfs appoint Prosper Nartey as their head coach, they have been able to maintain their home record. After drawing with Bechem United at Kumasi Sports Stadium, the Warriors was eager to put more pressure on league leaders but their lose have widen the gap with five points.
Speaking to Asempa Sports in an interview, Kweku Amponsah said, “What happened to us yesterday at the Cape Coat stadium is very difficult for us to talk about it because if you look at how Bechem United eliminated us from the MTN FA Cup competition and came back to the Kumasi Sports Stadium and had a drawn game with us and losing to Dwarfs, it is very painful but I will urge all the supporters not to stop supporting the club because this is how club supporting is.
“I don’t think we drawing with Bechem and losing to Dwarfs is where the problems started for Kotoko. The problems within Kotoko started six months back and so the problems didn’t start after drawing with Bechem United.
“There is always second transfer window that is open in other to buy players but the sorrowful thing about Kotoko is that anytime the transfer window opens, we always purchase players that are bench warmers. The club is only run by one person so if you don’t calm the supporters down, they will always go on demonstration but it should not be so because that is how the club is being built.
He continued, “We had similar problems with Didi Dramani and he was been sacked, we brought in Duncan and now he is no more the head coach of the club but the problems within the club is still there. For me the problems within the club is not a coach problem but it is about the management and the board so I think the board and the management of the club should be dissolve.
“As a I am talking to you, there are divisions among the supporters that we need to resolve all those issues and anytime there is such confusion among the supporters, that is how the club performs.” Amponsah added.
Kotoko after this shocking lost to Dwarfs now play their title rivals Accra Hearts of Oak at the Kumasi Sports Stadium in their week 21 fixtures of the Ghana Premier League.
