Goalkeeper of second tier side Liberty, Isaka Mohammed, who died on Sunday as a result of a clash with a striker in a football match will be buried today.
The 18-year-old prospect was reported to be playing in the ‘Friday Stars’ game at the Aquinas Park where the incident happened during play.
Mohammed was sent to the Police Hospital on Friday where he was referred to the 37 Military Hospitals that same day, but failed to survive on Sunday.
The Dansoman side is owned and coached by former Dansoman Liberty Professionals player Wahid Mohammed. A visibly shocked Mohammed believes the youngster popularly known as ‘Petr Czech’ had a promising future when it comes to goalkeeping in the country.
“As Islamic customs demand, Mohammed was supposed to be buried yesterday but due to improper documentation the body of the deceased will be released today for burial after midday.” a club source told Accra based Starr FM.
