Youth and Sports Minister, Nii Lante Vanderpuye has disclosed he never had problem with the Ghana Football Association President but rather the media created the tension.
Both parties were not in good in terms after the Member of Parliament for the people of Odododiodio constituency took the decision to slash the winning bonus of the Black Stars from $10,000 to $8,000 with consulting the FA.
Complimentary tickets given to the management members of the Black Stars were frozen up by the Sports Minister. Winning bonuses given to the management team was also frozen asking the management members to justify why they should be paid that amount.
These decisions taken by the former GBC worker did not go down well with the GFA which brought many rebuttals between both parties.
In many interviews, Kwesi Nyantakyi disclosed that there is fiction between him and the youth and sports minister but the Mr. Vanderpuye believes the media created the tension between him and the GFA boss.
I don’t have any problem with Nyantakyi but it’s the media that is creating all these tension.” He told Starr FM
“I always outwit them and that is why they see me as a bad person. I don’t know why in this country when you do the right thing, people see you as a bad person.
“Some Journalists are just paid to make me look bad but I still believes that I have done a good job as a sports minister.”
