The Ministry of Youth and Sports have approved $3.4m as Black Stars budget ahead of the Africa Cup on Nations in Gabon.
It will be recalled that the Ghana Football Association indicated that they will draw any budget for the various national team and urged the Ministry to do that job by themselves.
The GFA wasn’t happy when the Minister of Youth and Sports disclosed how much the FA spends on single on the Black Stars. The Member of Parliament for the people of Odododiodio constituency was also accused that he has been given the information about Black Stars budget to the media.
But the former GBC worker indicated that he will always do what is right regardless of what the FA demands.
Speaking on the AM Show on the JoyNews Channel, he said, “We have given the GFA $3.4m for the Black Stars participation in Gabon.
“We have started working on it because their budget came late but we are still on it. I will continue to work as the Sports Minister until the midnight of January 7.
“The budget proposal was about $5.4m but we did some work on it as I normally do. We have been able to cut it down to $3.4m but we will enquire about the money CAF gives to the various national teams that have qualified for the AFCON.” he added.
Black Stars have been paired in Group D with Egypt, Mali and Uganda.
The competition will kick off on January 14th to February 5th.
