Ghana international Sulley Muntari has been linked with a move to newly promoted Serie A side Cagliari.
According to Sky Sport Italia, the newly-promoted Sardinians are determined to bring more experience and prestige to their squad for the next Serie A season.
Muntari turns 32 next month and is a free agent after his contract with Ittihad expired.
He spent most of his career in Italy with Udinese, Inter and Milan, but also had spells in England for Portsmouth and Sunderland.
The Ghana international is known for his crunching tackles and determination in midfield.
Cagliari are also interested in Togo international striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who is a free agent after spells at Real Madrid, Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham and most recently Crystal Palace.
The 32-year-old has played in France, Spain and England, so would relish the chance to test himself in Serie A.
