Opare Addo slams Inusah Musah critics

Public Relations Officer of Hearts of Oak, Opare Addo has slammed critics of newly crowned defender of the season Inusah Musah.

Inusah Musah was crowned defender of the season at the State Banquet Hall in Accra on Friday evening.

After being adjudged nine times man of the match on his introduction in the second round of the 2015/16 league seasons many football fans were hoping Asante Kotoko defender, Amos Frimpong will be adjudged the best defender.

Amos scored eight goals for the Porcupine Warriors grabbing some assists as well. The defender led his outfit to the 5th position with 46 points at the end of the 2015/16.

“The reality is that, those who wanted Amos Frimpong and Abdul Bashiru to win the award they have their reasons why they wanted them to win the award,” Opare told Asempa FM

“I want them to understand that, if you have a defender who is very influential, winning nine times man of the match award out of thirteen matches he played. It pre-supposes that if the player was able to play the number of matches Amos and Bashiru played, it would have made a very big difference so nobody should take it away from Inusah that he doesn’t deserve to win the award.

“Amos Frimpong did very well but let look at how he was influential to his team. Is it because he scored some penalties for the club? I know people will want to argue on that way but we have to know that those who cast the vote looked at how these players performed and it doesn’t matter the number of matches the player played so whoever makes the argument that Inusah doesn’t deserve the award does not know football.” He added.
