Chief Executive Officer of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Opoku Nti has rubbished out the media reportage linking Kenichi Yatshuhatsi to Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
The former Hearts of Oak head coach mutually terminated the contract of the Japanese-American tactician.
It was consistently reported that the coach was not attending meetings and was not adhering to instructions from the technical bench and the management of the club. After both parties mutually agreed to go on their separate ways, Kenichi in an interview with Goal.com stated categorically that Kotoko had a difficult start of the season but they have done very well but nobody knows the future but I think Kotoko will win the league.
This statement gingered the speculations linking the former Hearts of Oak coach to the Kumasi based club.
Kotoko failed to take their chances against Bechem United at their home grounds and some of the supporters questioned the tactics of the coach. The draw has now push Kotoko back to the third position and now face a tough task at Cape Coast against Ebusua Dwarfs.
Some pundits have tipped Kenichi to replace Michael Osei at the club but the CEO of the club says there is no truth in those reports
“There is no truth about Kenichi joining Kotoko.” Opoku Nti told Asempa Sports in interview.
“We have Michael Osei who is doing a perfect job for the club so there need to brinh in another coach to take over from Michael.” He added.
