Head coach of the Senior National team, Avram Grant has admitted that the 2018 FIFA world cup qualifiers will not be easy for Ghana but they will do anything possible to ensure their qualification.
Ghana have been drawn in Group E with Congo, Egypt and Uganda. Many have tipped Ghana’s group as one of the toughest group in next year’s qualification matches.
One match that many will be pushed many football enthusiast to watch is Ghana against Egypt. Ahead of the 2014 FIFA world cup in Brazil, the Black Stars demolished the Egyptians national team by 6:1 at the Kumasi Sports Stadium. Ghana will kick their qualification matches against Congo on August 28, 2017 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Speaking to Asempa Sports, he said, “We have a game against Rwanda even though we have qualified already for the 2017 AFCON but as a serious country, we will take that match seriously because we have some matches coming up against Uganda, Congo and Egypt in the 2018 FIFA world cup qualifiers.
“We have a very important AFCON to play. We did very well in the last two years edition and we missed on penalty shootout. Next year’s AFCON will be very difficult because I have noticed that many good teams did not qualify but those who have qualified are also good teams.
“We have our own ambitions but until then we have those qualifications matches to play for the world cup which we want to do anything possible to qualify. Our group is a tough group, because Egypt have done well and there is no easy match but I think it is possible even though it will be tough but it is possible because that is our target and we have to do anything to qualify.” He added.
