President Mahama promises to Build Sports Center of Excellence in the ten regions of Ghana

President John Dramani Mahama has promised to develop young budding sports talents in the country when voted into office for his second term.

The president made this pledge when delivering highlights of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Manifesto 2016 at the State Banquet Hall in Accra on Tuesday evening.

President Mahama revealed one of the community-based Senior High Schools in each of the ten regions of the country will be selected and developed into a center of excellence in sports.

“It will be a secondary school but all the young people who show excellence in sports will be brought to that secondary school and so there will be ten of them in the regions – they will compete in athletics, and all the sports against each other and we will draw young talents from there to feed the national teams”, he said.
