FIFA referee retired, Joseph Wellington has reiterated the need for referees to see officiating as hobby but not a business venture.
In addressing the issue of debt owed by the football Association for officiating the premier league he said “referee is not for business, we do it as a hobby”
He stated that most of the referees have their own jobs doing. ‘most of us have our own jobs so we don’t depend on refereeing for a living’ he added
The last time they received payments was week 8 of the Ghana premier League.
