Former Black Stars striker, Augustine Arhinful is of the view that sacking Avram Grant will be a bad decision.
This sharp statement comes in after the Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe proposed that Avram Grant need to be axed because he has nothing to offer the country. After failing to record a win four matches, many have urged the Ghana Football Association to sack the Israeli tactician.
The Black Stars will be hoping to take a sweet revenge against the seven time Africa champions in Cairo on November 13.
Speaking to Asempa Sports, Augustine said, “I have said that everybody has their own opinion on issues like this but as a former footballer the question we need to ask ourselves is that, looking at the days left for the Egypt clash, will it be a good option to sack Avram Grant? He quizzed.
“In as much that there are problems looming in the team, we need to have peace before we play the Egyptians because after playing them in Cairo we have limited time to play in the AFCON. If you ask me, I will say the timing is bad if we should sack Avram Grant.
“We need peace to help the players to play for the country because I believe we can go to Egypt and surprise them. I am not those people who think we will not qualify for the world cup but there are a lot of things we need to do to improve the performance of the team and I know people will have different opinion on this but sacking Avram Grant on this stage will be very bad so if we have any decision to take, that decision must come after the AFCON but what Dr. Nyaho said, I will leave it in the hands of Ghanaians.” He added.
