Former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah have urged the Black Stars recover from their defeat to Egypt ahead of Sunday’s quarterfinal clash against DR Congo.
Ghana was defeated the by Pharaoh’s of Egypt by a lone goal to nothing in the final round of matches in the group stages.
The Black Stars will now play DR Congo on Sunday in the quarter finals of the competition.
Appiah is urging the team to put their pieces together ahead of their crucial game against Congo on Sunday.
“For now we lost and it is important we put it behind us and move forward, we have Congo to play in our next game and we should focus on that game,” he said on GHone TV.
“The Congolese are a strong side and we should understand we have a tough hurdle ahead.
“So the players should just forget about the defeat to Egypt and think ahead of the next game.”
Ghana must beat Congo to keep their dreams of ending the 34 year wait of an AFCON trophy alive.
