The President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana, Kwabena Yeboah is adamant the Black Stars will triumph over the Pharaohs of Egypt.
Following the disappointed drawn game against Uganda, many football pundits have ruled out Ghana’s chances of picking at least a point against the seven times Africa Champions.
Egypt started their Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifications on brighter note by defeating Congo 2:1 in Kinshasa making them the group leaders in Group E but Kwabena Yeboah still believes the Stars will triumph over Egypt.
Speaking to the press, he said, “I am naturally an optimistic person so am optimistic we will get a favorable result against the Egyptians.
“I think we were unfortunate against the Cranes of Uganda but I am confident we will get a good result in spite of the fact that North African teams have a near perfect home record. I think we sometimes tend to underrate the team.
“I never expected Uganda to come here and get a point but with the right tactics and excellent goalkeeping skills they had a draw. I think we were just unfortunate. If they get the right psyche and convert their chances, they will pick a point”.
The vociferous football pundit also called on the team’s psychologist to work on the psyche of the players as 75,000 supporters are expected to be at the Alexandria Sports Stadium on November 13th.
He said, “I believe we have a psychologist in the team who will prepare the players psychologically for the game. The Stars are also professionals who know very well that the Egyptians supporters will be the 12th man on the day so they should be able to cope with it”.
