The departure of Kenichi shut Hearts of Oak title believe – Mohammed Polo

Former Accra Hearts of Oak coach, Mohammed Polo believes the departure of Kenichi Yatsuhatshi from Hearts was the reason why the Phobians couldn’t win the GPL title.

The Accra based club parted ways mutually with the Japanese-American tactician with an incredible home record and was able to win the hearts of the supporters.

Hearts finished third in the 2015/16 season behind winners Wa All Stars and second-placed Aduana Stars but the Africa Cup of Nations winner, Polo believes it was a big mistake the Phobians did.

“It definitely was their doom because it came at a time no one expected it. Hearts had looked comfortable and played with a lot of confidence under him, exhibiting a lot of stamina in the second half of their games.” Polo told the media.

How can you make such a coach leave? I think it was a very costly mistake and I am sure the management knows it too.” He added.
