Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Sanni Darra has described newly crowned champions Wa All Stars as worthy winners for winning the Ghana Premier League title.
The Wa based club clinched the title with 51 points making them the first Northern club to win the League title.
According to the former BBC worker, Wa All Stars won the league based on meritocracy after defeating the top guns of Ghana football.
“… we played the league for thirty matches, so if you want to measure from day one to the final day, you will realize that among all teams, Wa All Stars emerged victorious and you can see it from their records that all the big teams in the league from Hearts, Kotoko, Medeama, Aduana and the rest, Wa All Stars defeated them, so I will say that they are worthy champions”, Sanni told Kumasi based Ahoto FM.
He paid tribute to the Premier League Champions for producing quality young players for the country.
The official mouthpiece for the GFA mentioned players like Richard Ofori, Issahaku Konda and others as some of the outstanding players of the season who are all players of the club.
