Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Sergio Traguil has revealed that some of the players are sidelined to injuries but he will not attribute that to their results they recorded against Techiman City at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday in the match day 24 fixtures.
The Phobians needed to win to keep pace with the leaders. Cosmos Dauda’s 55th minute penalty appeared to have set the tone for a Hearts win but the visitors also equalized through the spot in the 68th minute, with Isaac Baah converting it.
Speaking to Asempa Sports, Sergio said, “We always try to do what is good for the game but we had some few minor injuries.
“Before the game, some of the players came to me and told me they are having some injury problems but I don’t think it was because of the players that didn’t play made us draw.
“The team have thirty players in all and every player can play and can make the difference and so I don’t agree with people saying I benched my best players.
“Considering Isaac Mensah, he had a knock so he even asked me not to play him because he is not fit and I want him to be fit for the Wa All Stars match as well.” Sergio added.
The draw against Techiman City have pulled the Phobian club to the 3rd position with 40 points and will play league leaders Wa All Stars on Wednesday in the match day 25 fixtures in Wa Sports Stadium.
