Black Stars midfielder, Agyemang Badu has described their Africa Cup of Nations performance as big embarrassment.
The Ghana Football Association charged the Avram Grant to end the country’s 35 years trophy drought ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
The team was hoping to clinch the trophy after they qualified for the quarter finals of the competition. The Stars eliminated DR Congo to proceed into the semifinals of the tournament.
Cameroon who were crowned eventually winners of the tournament took on the Black Stars in the semifinals stage of the competition but the Black Stars were painfully defeated by 2:0.
The Black Stars were hoping to win a bronze medal in the third and fourth place fixture but they were again defeated by Burkina Faso by a lone goal to nothing.
But the former Asante Kotoko midfielder believes their performance was shambolic and nothing to write about.
“All the players are really sad but that is football and we can’t do anything about it.” He told Asempa FM.
“We will now have to concentrate on our clubs now and we have qualifiers to play for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations for 2019.
“It is difficult for we the players and I must say that it is big embarrassment.” He added.
