Captain of Medeama SC, Muntari Tagoe is very optimistic triumphing over TP Mazembe in their CAF Confederation match that will be staged at the Essipong Sports Stadium but they will need character to play against Mazembe.
Medeama unfortunately lost by 3:1 in the first league fixture at Congo. After four matches played, Medeama have lost one, drawn two with one win occupying the 2nd position with 5 points.
“We the players know what it is at stake because it is a big game by all standard and it is a must win game because if we want to progress to the semi-finals then we have to win this match.” Muntari told Adom Sports in an interview.
“We were defeated by 3:1 in the first league and we saw how they play but as you progress, you definitely learn your mistakes. Gradually we are progressing and Sunday God willing, we will do our best to get all the three maximum points.
“The coach have spoken to us and we have also talk to ourselves and going into the match, we need to character and self-confidence because it is a difficult match and they are a big but we have we will also do everything possible to get all the three maximum points.
“The character is all about self believe because we also have quality players because we all know that TP Mazembe are good financially and they have played this competition for long and they are matured so we will stand firm and fight very hard.
“We know the importance of playing in Africa and every player want to play at that level so I totally believe that every player that the coach will select to play will offer more than one hundred percent.” He concluded.
