Head coach of Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs, Prosper Nartey has revealed that his team outplayed Kotoko like an ordinary side.
Dwarfs humiliated Kotoko by 4:1 at the Robert Mensah Sports Stadium in their week 20 of the Ghana Premier League. The pressure seems to be piling on the Kumasi based club just after drawing with Bechem United at their home grounds.
The stunning defeat has pulled the Kotoko to the 4th position on the league log and now play Accra Hearts of Oak at their home grounds.
Speaking to the media after the game, Prosper said, “We the thoughtfulness, commitment and believe that we can beat Kotoko because what they did was those days and not now.
“It is about playing on the field so I told them that Kotoko is Kotoko because of what they did some time ago. It is about football and we are in a different year so they should believe in themselves that they can beat Kotoko and indeed we have beaten them hands down and from the start of the game to the last minutes, we were on top of the game.
“Kotoko are tactically discipline but we were able to map up a game plan against them and that was why we were able to reduce them just to an ordinary side because we didn’t have that ability to read and analyze game and how to take your opponent on but I think Kotoko is a good side but tactically we were able to do what was expected from us and that was why you saw Kotoko to be just an ordinary side.
Dwarfs play Ashgold in their next game from home. Quizzed on how he is going to defeat Ashgold, he said, “Playing Ashgold is a different ball game together so we will go back to the tactical board and get everything together and design a game plan for Ashgold.
“They have a very good turf and I believe in my players because when they have a very good turf they can really play. We will still go back to the drawing board and see our mistakes against Kotoko and corrects all of them and consolidate what we did right because the game against Ashgold has its own dynamics and complexity so we will design a perfect game plan to beat Ashgold.” He added.
The win against the Warriors has pushed Dwarfs from the relegation zone to the 11th position with 23 points.
