Deputy captain of Kumasi Asante Kotoko; Eric Donkor has established that, he was off for a while immediately after the team’s accident at Nkawkaw yesterday.
In an interview on Asempa FM, Donkor said all he saw immediately after the accident was that, everybody on board was crying to their God. Those who were seriously injured were lying on the ground and those with just cuts were standing. Godwin Ablordey was heard screaming heavily and that drew the attention of most of us to attend to him and other injured persons.
The Deputy Captain further stated that, coach Steve Polack smiled at him personally when they were at the Holy Family Hospital at Nkawkaw; also, at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi even on a sick bed, Steve Polack was talking about training. ”personally, Steve Polack is a strong person; even on a sick bed he was telling us that we will train in three days time; and I think he loves his job as a coach.” He said.
Kotoko was defeated 1-0 by Inter Allies in the 22nd week of the Ghana Premier League at the El Wak Sports Stadium yesterday and now lies 4th on the league table with 35 points.
