Former France international Willy Sagnol has become the latest name to be linked with the head coach’s position of Ghana’s Black Stars.
The position has become available following the exit of Israel manager Avram Grant following Ghana’s participation in the just ended Afcon in Gabon which ended in a fourth place disappointment.
Despite a plethora of names including Uganda’s Milutin Sredojevic and Morocco’s Herve Renard being also linked to the job he becomes the first to openly declare his intention to take the job.
Sagnol,a UEFA Pro License holder has already enjoyed stints with the France U-21 side between January 2013 and March 2014 and has already tasted management at the highest club level with French Ligue One side Bordeaux.
A successful career at Bayern Munich saw him play with Ghana’s Samuel Osei Kuffour while winning five Bundesliga titles along with a Champions League trophy in the process.
Sportsniteleak.com picked up that Sagnol intends to make use of talent from the Ghana Premier League while spending extensive time monitoring the league itself.
The French man has already visited Ghana this year on the invitation of Mirage Football Academy.
