World Cup qualification makes our wives and girlfriends happy – Agyemang Badu

Black Stars midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang has stated that it’s always a big honor to play at the FIFA World Cup and it brings more joy to their relatives such as their wives and girlfriends.

The energetic midfielder was part of Ghana’s team at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and believes it is a privilege for every footballer to play at the World Cup because aside the personal gratification, there are several fringe benefits attached to it.

The Black Stars will start their Russia 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign against Uganda at the Temale Sports Stadium on Friday October 7.

The Udinese star says the players do not require being motivated to win because they are well aware of the extra advantages a ticket to Russia could bring to them individually.

“I have been saying that whenever we wear the national kit, it is because of the pride. I have repeatedly said the World Cup qualifiers are difficult than African cup”, Agyeman Badu said

“We all know that once a country qualifies to the World Cup, the amount of resources that gets into the country and we know the mileage it gives to the country”,

“But most importantly, we the footballers know the kind of benefits we get from being at the World cup, because it gives you respect at your club side, you can get a new deal at another club, it brings happiness to your family and even your wives and girlfriends share in the joy”, He added
