Interim coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Yaw Preko has urged former head coach Sergio Traguil to move on with his life after he was demoted to the youth team.
The Portuguese tactician was relieved of his duty as trainer of the Phobian side last Tuesday after a series of poor performances at the club in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
He was originally hired to facilitate the youth ranks of the side and has since been asked to return to that role. Reports indicate he has rejected the offer and is on his way out of Hearts of Oak.
Yaw Preko thinks his former boss should assess the situation and look for opportunities away from the club if he feels things have not played out to his advantage.
Speaking to Accra based Class FM in an interview, Yaw said, “As a coach he will know that coaches are only hired to be fired, so this shouldn’t…kill his career. He is a good coach and I believe that if it hasn’t worked for him here, he should move on and get some new job.
With three matches to end the season, Yaw Preko has not thrown in the towel as far as winning the Premier League is concerned, although the team sits fourth on the table with 42 points, six points behind league leaders Wa All Stars.
He said, “Until the fat lady sings we are not giving up. We hope to take nine points from our three remaining games and see what happens with our rivals. There is still hope.”
Hearts will play Ebusua Dwarfs in the match day 28 fixture on Wednesday September 7 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
