Former spokesperson for Ghana Boxing Association; Mohammed Amin Lamptey has opined that, Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Asiamah should resign with immediate effect following his inability to finance the Black Bombers for the 2017 Amateur Boxing tournament in Congo Brazzaville.
In an interview with the editor of sportsniteleaks.com, the former PRO disclosed that, as a minister, you ought to have the ability to turn things around when they are not in a good shape. “as a minister, you don’t expect the president to come and teach you how to improvise when there is no money”. He said.
Amin Lamptey in his submission, pointed out the negative consequences that might happen as results of the sports ministry’s failure to pull strings to aid the Black Bombers a participation right in Congo Brazzaville. “automatically, we have killed these boys both psychologically and mentally which can lead some of them to engage in certain activities such as armed robbery, and mobile phone snatching”. Amin said.
The Black Bombers team needed around fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) in order for the 8 prepared Amateur Boxers to represent Ghana at the African Championship in Congo Brazzaville.
